Actions in Combat

Positioning Actions

Move (move, physical) You move a number of meters up to the Speed you use. You can jump horizontally a number of meters up to the lower of your Athletics or highest Speed, or vertically up to half your Size. If you take a running start (moving at least the length of the relevant Speed) before jumping, this increases to the higher of the two horizontally, or your Size vertically.
Reposition (move, physical) You move a number of meters up to half the Speed you use and gain Momentum equal to your Coordination or Mobility. You can jump, as above, half the distance you would normally be able to.

Offensive Actions

Cautious Strike (attack, physical) Attack carefully, prodding your foe's defenses. Make an attack. You gain Momentum equal to points of success, and the target loses the same amount. Points of failure work in reverse.
Decisive Strike (attack, physical) Attack with full force, aiming to maim or kill. Make an attack. You cause a wound with a Severity equal to your attack's base Severity plus points of success (or minus points of failure), plus the difference in you and your target's Momentum scores. If you succeed, you choose the location of this wound; if you fail and still create a wound, the target chooses the location. After resolving this action, your Momentum is reset to 1, even if it was lower. Points of failure reduce your Momentum after this reset.
Demoralize (attack, mental, social) You harass, threaten, and otherwise mess with an opponent's head. Persuade a target (see Dialogues). They lose Willpower equal to points of success; you lose Willpower equal to points of failure. If you fail, they gain the benefits of the Focus reaction.
Disarm (attack, physical) You attempt to knock an equipped or accessible item out of an opponent's grasp. Make an attack with a free hand (or a weapon with the disarm trait). If points of success equal or exceed the item's effective ENC, it is knocked to the ground within a meter of the target or grabbed by you. Additional points of success after this threshold reduce the target's Momentum, while points of failure reduce your Momentum.
Grapple (attack, physical) You grab onto a creature.
Shove (attack, physical) You bowl into a foe, attempting to knock them over or back.
